Skilled Nurses

​​​​​​​Study Background: Skilled Nursing facilities and Home Health Agencies have experienced several significant changes in recent years, including the: 

  • Centers for Medicare & Medicaid implemented payment policy changes  

  • Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) in October 2019 

  • Patient Driven Groupings Model (PDGM) in January 2020 

  • Emergence of the COVID-19 global pandemic.  

This project wants to learn from skilled nursing facility and home health agency leaders, staff, patients, and caregivers. 

Study Objective: To capture the voices of skilled nursing facility and home health agency leaders, providers, patients, and caregivers. 

The team is a collaboration among 

  • University of Pittsburgh (PITT) 

  • University of Washington 

  • University of California Los Angeles 

  • The post-acute care community

Seeking Perspectives of SNF and HHA Leadership 

 

Study Participation:

  • Who can participate? 

  • Are you a Skilled Nursing Facility or Home Health leader? We want to hear about your experiences. 

  • We are seeking Skilled Nursing Facility and Home Health leaders who can speak to the impacts of PDPM and/or PDGM and the COVID-19 Pandemic on the following key concepts: 

  • Navigating facility/agency operations 

  • Staffing across disciplines 

  • Quality and outcomes of care 

  • Eligible leadership roles in Skilled Nursing Facilities may include:   

  • Nursing Home Administrators 

  • Directors of Nursing 

  • Executive Directors 

  • Directors of Rehabilitation 

  • Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinators 

  • Eligible leadership roles in Home Health may include:  

  • Administrators 

  • Director of Home Health 

  • Clinical Director 

  • Clinical Manager 

  • Home Health manager 

  • Director of Operations 

  • What can participants expect:  

  • Participants will engage in a single phone interview lasting 45-60 minutes.  

  • In appreciation of your time, you will be offered a $50 e-gift card.

  • Are you a staff member of either a Skilled Long-care Facility, Nursing Home, or home health agency 

  • Eligible Roles may include: 

  • Nurse Aides and Nurse Assistants 

  • Home Health Aides 

  • Licensed Practical Nurse 

  • Registered Nurses 

  • Social Workers 

  • Admission Coordinators 

  • Care Coordinators 

  • Rehab Aides 

  • Occupational Therapy Assistants 

  • Occupational Therapists 

  • Physical Therapist Assistants 

  • Physical Therapists 

  • Speech Language Pathologists
